Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Patients finding it impossible to visit the surgery due to severe health problems can request a home visit. Often it may be that the district nurses will visit housebound patients and then liaise with doctors further.

Please remember the doctor can see five patients at the surgery in the time it takes to do one home visit. Besides the medical facilities and computer records available within the surgery make good care easier than at home.

When the condition of the patient does require a home visit please telephone the surgery before 09:00 where possible so that doctors can plan and prioritise the visits.

If you think it is an emergency such as chest pain, severe difficulty in breathing or excessive bleeding/collapse you must call 999 at all times.
